Please join us for a very special evening of socialising, making friends, learning, and enjoying drinks, canapés and music at a memorable historic venue in the company of a very important Harvard alumnus. The Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli (AB 1981) is the first graduate from a US college to serve in the historic post of Lord Mayor of the City of London. The Lord Mayoralty is among the oldest elected civic offices in the world, dating back to 1189. Please see the Lord Mayor’s biography and an essay on him in the Harvard Gazette.
This is the first HCUK reception at Mansion House for almost a decade. This is a rare, and possibly a once-in-a-lifetime, opportunity to attend an event at Mansion House with a sitting Lord Mayor who is a Harvard alumnus/a. The Lord Mayor will speak on a topical issue and answer questions from guests (subject of the speech and Q&A protocol will be announced at a later date).
Musical entertainment will be provided by HCUK’s Trio Veritas - Max Wong (violin), Hannah Whitmore (cello) and Victoria Leung (piano) - in its debut performance.
