Professor Anna Lysyanskaya came to Brown in 2002, fresh from completing her Ph.D. at MIT. Her research area is cryptography, specifically privacy-preserving cryptographic algorithms. She will talk about her work on privacy-preserving algorithms for contact tracing for Covid-19 and explain what is behind the technology that Apple and Google have developed for this purpose. The session will be moderated by Alla Bashenko, BA-MA ‘98, BCUK Board member & Treasurer.
Short version: Apple and Google have good stuff (and some Brown alums working on it!), and we need to work with them! Please email admin@brownuk.org for the virtual meeting link.
